The Full Story

About

Southeast Coalition of Psychedelic Practitioners was officially established in 2023 with the focus on serving the Southeast United States. As psychedelic-assisted therapy has become undeniably effective through clinical studies in having healing effects on mental health, the cost of treatment is and will continue to be the most prohibitive factor in access to the public. While the states located in the Southeast region of the U.S. tend to be in the lower half of the national median income, there are additional hindrances exacerbated in the Southeast region. The overlay of religion, old tradition, and stigmatization of trauma, therapy, and psychedelics, though certainly present in other areas of the country, is magnified in the Southeast. There is a philosophy to be challenged in the Southeast regarding all therapy treatment, much less psychedelic treatments. All said, being a practitioner of psychedelic-assisted treatment in the Southeast U.S. requires a great deal of resourcefulness. The Southeast Psychedelic Coalition has been formed to create that hub of resources needed for practitioners and their clients. At present, the states we serve are Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, and South Carolina.

HOW WE WORK

Distribution of funds for assistance will begin in the Spring of 2024.

We will add a submission page to this site for practitioners to submit clients needing assistance, as well as practitioners requesting scholarships.  Our advisory board, which will be members reflecting diverse and inclusive representation from all 6 states, will vote on fund distribution.  As we continue to grow our advisory board and add state representation, we will provide a listing of our members prior to Spring 2024.
